Purpose and History

purpose

To promote and support the economic, physical and cultural revitalization of the Fallbrook area

History of the Fallbrook Village Association

The Fallbrook Village Association was formed in 1993 by San Diego County at the request of the Fallbrook Revitalization Council to develop and implement Revitalization Programs. Our original mission statement was; Develop a vital business and residential downtown to enhance the historic small town atmosphere, halt deterioration, increase cultural involvement, and promote the Friendly Village Identity. Our first project was the development of the Village Square.

Highlights

  • Village Square - acquisition, design, fund-raising, management.
  • Beech Street Park (Now Heyneman Park,) acquisition, design, development, management (Originally funded with a county grant)
  • Art Center - acquisition, fund-raising, management to 2O09
  • School of The Arts - acquisition, fund-raising, management to 2009
  • Art In Public Places - started in 1997 at the Village Square, transferred to Arts Inc in 2009 (15 sculptures, 6 murals.)
  • Pico Paths - funded with a county grant.
  • New village zoning - favoring small business, art and agriculture.
  • The Fountain of Giving was dedicated in September; 2012. The sculpture entitled The Larger Circle, was created by artist Don Rambadt, to represent the spirit of giving. The Art was donated to Arts Inc. and their Art in Public Places program.
  • Proactive advocates for policies and programs beneficial to our town center and our community at large.
  • Adopted and maintained a policy of collaboration with community and municipal organizations.


The Village Association Provides support and leadership for the Fallbrook Revitalization Advisory Council (Now called the Fallbrook Community Forum).


We have maintained a policy of collaboration with community, municipal and governmental organizations since we were founded.
